About me

Hello! I’m Rhiannon, a gardener and content creator who helps people to grow food and flowers at home. I live in Birmingham with my husband, daughter and cat, where I do all my growing in my back garden.

I started my gardening journey in 2018, when I moved into a house with a garden for the first time (at the ripe old age of 35). Since then, I’ve been learning to grow fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers, both outdoors and under cover in my polytunnel. Growing my own produce has not only helped me to save money; it has brought me joy, peace, and is the most productive creative outlet. I’ve been a media professional for a long time – I have a Master’s degree in Creative Writing and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations – and at the beginning of 2023, I started a TikTok channel, Rhiannon’s Garden, to find a likeminded gardening community. 73,000 followers and 4 million views later, that channel is thriving…and so is my garden.

I believe in messy, realistic gardens that evolve with us as we grow. I believe that gardening is the gentlest of therapies that can help you through the toughest of times. Above all, I believe that gardening is for everyone: anyone can do it if they have access to some form of soil, light, and water. Whether you’re growing on your front lawn, your window sill, your back garden or your allotment, I hope you find some tips and tricks here to help you on your way.

About Caspar

Caspar Cat is a very silly, needy rescue who loves people more than food, and is afraid of birds (the big scary magpies shout at him). He is an excellent gardening companion and likes nothing more than to doze in the polytunnel while I prune the tomatoes. He gives proper hugs. He has an inbuilt sensor for when I’ve changed the bedding; five minutes later, there are always muddy paw prints all over it.

If you’d like to contact Caspar, your best bet is to sit down somewhere and make your lap look especially inviting. He is very particular about optimal lap configuration but the right lap will mean he’ll show up and get comfy. Warning: there will be drool.
